Style notes — late Georgian period mainly refers to the early 19th century, up to 1838. The style was predominantly neo-classical, that looked back at the ancient Greece and Rome and used those elements in design and decoration. Most Georgian items have straight and very clean lines and elegant repetitive floral patterns.
Facts of Lavish History bits — after the fall of the Western Roman Empire in the 5th century AD, glass production was rare and most decanters were made in pottery; some were made in bronze, silver and gold.
